Fairtrade Beauty Products

The Fairtrade Foundation has announced the first beauty products to carry the FAIRTRADE Mark in the UK. The public will be able to buy products including lip balms, face masks, body butters and shower gels from 5 companies including Boots, Bubble & Balm, Essential Care, Lush and Neal’s Yard.

Plans for Birmingham Aquatic Centre
Plans for the Birmingham Aquatics and Leisure Centre have been revealed for public consultation. The proposals include a 50m swimming pool, a fitness suite and sports facilities. To read more about the proposed centre, click here for info on the BBC Birmingham webpage.

Cosmetic Company Archives
The Visual Arts Data Service (VADS) and the London College of Fashion have collaborated to digitise the photographic archives of Gala, Miner's and Crystal. These were cosmetic companies operating during and after the Second World War. Copies are now available at Richmond House Library of Period hairstyles for studio, stage and screen : a practical reference for actors, models, make-up artists, photographers, Spencer, Kit . This book is on the reading list for Creative Showcase and Styling for Photography.
