Library Service Student Survey

We have now added links to the Library portal page so that you can give us feedback on UCB Library services. Just click on the 'Take Our Survey' tab at the top of the Library portal page and you will be given the option of completing online the FE (further education) survey or the HE (higher education) survey. UCB members of staff are also welcome to complete the survey, as we  value your feedback. Please take a few moments to complete the survey, as this is your chance to let us know your opinion of the services that we offer and perhaps suggest future developments that would enhance your learning experience at UCB. New Sports Management Ebook

Following a 'Sports Management' student request, you now have access to a new ebook. 
The Economics of Football, Dobson, can be found via the Library portal page list of Athens resources and the Dawson Books database.

New Resource- American Vogue Archive

You can now access a new online resource - the American Vogue Archive .

The Vogue Archive contains the entire run of Vogue magazine (US edition), from the first issue in 1892 to the current month, reproduced in high-resolution colour page images. Log on to UCB Online, select the Library link and then the Athens list of resources. Scroll down and you will see the link for the Vogue Archive.

The Back Pain Show 2013

The Back Pain Show will be taking place Friday 22nd - Saturday 23rd February 2013 at Olympia, London, and if you book in advance you can get a free ticket. See the event website for more info.

October Issue of International Therapist

The October issue of International Therapist, published by The Federation of Holistic Therapists (FHT) who have a useful website worth looking at, is now available in the Library. This issue includes an article (page 48) on the FHT Student of the Year, who has overcome adversity to complete her course and also a feature (page 66) on writer of holistic books Francesca Gould discussing, among other things, her time as a therapist and beauty lecturer. You might recognise Francesca Gould's name as we have several books by her in the Library.

Camexpo Complementary Event

Camexpo is the only dedicated event for the complementary, natural and integrated healthcare sector in the UK and is aimed at any practitioner, therapist, student or retailer involved in this sector. It is taking place on Saturday 20th and Sunday 21st October at Earls Court, London. See the event site for more info.

Careers in Sport and Exercise Conference

A Careers in Sports and Exercise Conference is taking place on Thursday 25th October 2012 at Worcester University.  The conference is FREE and suitable for university sports students, 16-19 school/college students, careers advisers and professionals within the sport and exercise sector, all seeking to expand their knowledge and understanding of career and training options in the industry. Just a reminder that Special Effects Makeup for Stage and Screen, Debreceni, which seems to be in demand at the moment, is also available as an ebook. You can access this book through Althens and the Dawson Books database. Mintel Student Ambassador Programme

Mintel has launched a new initiative aiming to engage students with the Mintel brand and offer a year long programme for higher education students to gain real business skills and industry experience to assist in the ever more competitive graduate job market.

Students can register their interest at mintel.com/studentambassador to sign up to become an ambassador with Mintel. Following this, applicants will then have the opportunity to apply for one of fifty ambassador roles via a selection process involving a creative project task - where submissions will be uploaded online, using drawing, writing, video or audio to represent their submission. The Alternative Hair Show 2012

The Alternative Hair Show 2012, which helps to raise funds for Leukaemia Research, will be held at The Royal Albert Hall, London, on Sunday 14th October. See the event website for further information.
