The region’s award winning fashion and
shopping event, Style Birmingham Live AW13, is back on Saturday 28 September. The hosts for this year are Birmingham born model and presenter Emma Willis and
reality TV star Rylan Clark.
Tickets are now on sale for the unmissable
day of fashion, beauty and shopping, which this year is centred around a stunning
catwalk show at Town Hall. The city centre venue will be transformed into a ‘fashion
industry’ style setting, with a show featuring the latest autumn/winter styles
and collections from across the city’s top stores and centres including Bullring,
Selfridges, The Mailbox, Harvey Nichols, House of Fraser and M&S.
There is a full line-up of activities and offers from around the city
centre for visitors to enjoy, including ‘Style on the Side’ - a fashion themed
audience Q&A with hosts Emma & Rylan following each catwalk show, plus
The Show:TEN at Bullring, which will celebrate ten years of fashion and style
at the heart of the city with a stunning AW13 catwalk show, as well as style
events at House of Fraser, The Mailbox and many other city centre stores.
The digital edition of the September 2013 issue of Health Club Management is now available. From the link you can also access many other digital publications, such as Spa Business, Sports Management and Leisure Management, by using the 'More Digital Publications' drop-down menu.
Sky Ride Birmingham is a great opportunity to ride with family and friends in
the city centre this Sunday, 15th September. The route opens at 10.00am and there will be lots of free things for the whole
family to do on the day, so get your bikes ready and come and join in! For more information see the event website.
There are two television programmes of interest, showing today and tomorrow. This evening at 10:00pm on BBC2 The Culture Show features the new Library of Birmingham (well worth a visit, if you haven't already been!). The Culture Show: The People's Palace asks what role the Library of Birmingham has to play in the digital age and what it offers the city. Tomorrow, the last in the series of How Not to Get Old, (Channel 4 at 8.00pm), includes testing a non-invasive method of removing under-eye circles and laser treatment to smooth out a wrinkled neck.
You can now access the E-book of Inside Sport Psychology, Karageorghis, from the Dawson Books database via Athens. Print copies will be available soon at Richmond House Library and Summer Row Library.
