Sports Therapy and Rehabilitation Student Conference

The 2nd Sports Therapy and Rehabilitation Student Conference will be held at Plymouth Marjon University on 18th May 2018. Keynote speakers, workshop themes and an after-dinner speaker will be announced shortly. Abstracts for presentations at the conference are now being taken (deadline 8th April 2018) and registration for conference tickets will open in January 2018.

 Issue 4, 2017, of CLADmag magazine is now online. CLAD design magazine is suitable for spa and sports students. This issue has features on spa and sport stadium design and also information about the plans for the 2024 Olympic Games taking place in Paris. Taking place alongside this event will be The World Spa and Wellness Convention and HJ Live for hair professionals. Balenciaga Fashion Exhibition at the V&A

On now until Sunday 18th February 2018, at the V&A, London, is the  Balenciaga: Shaping Fashion exhibition. Tickets are available to book online and cost £12.00. Read all about the exhibition, including the highlights on the V&A site. Even if you can't make it to London to see the exhibition it's worth visiting the site to see the related photographs and X-raying Balenciaga to see the interior structures of the clothes revealed by X-Rays.

There is lots of useful basic information about setting up your own business in this book (written by someone who has worked in the UK hair, nail and beauty business for over 20 years) that will be useful for an assignment or if you are thinking about setting up your own business when you've completed your course.

 Therapy Expo

The Therapy Expo training event for therapy professions will be taking place at NEC Birmingham on 22nd and 23rd November 2017 and final year students are able to get a discounted price ticket. The conference programme is dedicated to four key areas, MSK, Sports Injuries & Biomechanics, Neuro Rehabilitation and Acute Care, covering everything from manipulative therapies to Tracheostomy care. My name is Dianne Hudson and I am your Subject Librarian for Hairdressing, Beauty Therapy and Sport on a Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday until 1pm. The new Spring edition of International Therapist magazine is now available in the Library. Inside this issue are details of the sessions available at the  FHT Training Congress (in conjunction with the Holistic Health Show) which is taking place at the NEC Birmingham from Sunday 21st to Monday 22nd May 2017. New Collection of Art Nouveau Designs in VADS

One of the world's largest collections of work by Glasgow Style designer Talwyn Morris has been launched online by the Visual Arts Data Service (VADS) for free use in education and research. If you are looking for creative inspiration, you might like to have a look at this large collection of books to see their art nouveau design covers. VADS provides free online access to over 140,00 images for use in education, from over 300 collections across the UK and is hosted by the University for the Creative Arts (UCA).
