Current Online Issues of Salon, Spa and Sport Journals

The February 2013 issue of The Salon magazine is now available online. The Salon magazine is a trade publication that covers all aspects of the UK hairdressing and beauty therapy industry. This issue features Event Planning (p50) where you can read about planning an event to help boost takings and business, Bookings by Numbers (p60) has details of Linkup Marketing research into how clients want to book their salon appointments, and also backstage news for Dancing On Ice (p14).

Also worth mentioning are the online journals available via Leisure Opportunities

Click on the 'Jump to other Leisure Opportunities Publications' from the homepage and you will be able to select plenty of useful spa, leisure and sport management titles that you can read online.

Sports/Sports Therapy Journals Online

You now have access to several online sport journals via UCB Online. To access these, click on the Athens list of resources and then the Ovid Online database. Click on the 'Journals' tab at the top of the page and you will see a list of seven titles that you can access. Be aware that some of these journals are the previous titles of other titles on the list (this is stated next to the title) and will be archived back issues only.

New Fashion Journal

We have just added a new fashion journal to our collection. You will find a print copy of Harper's Bazaar in the Library, but you'll also find it worthwhile having a look at the Harper's Bazaar website.

Forthcoming Fashion Week Dates

You can see the dates for the New York, London, Milan and Paris Fashion Weeks, which are taking place during February and March, at the Fashionweek.com website
You will be able to watch the shows live from the site, so it's worth making a note of the dates for these events and other fashion weeks from across the world that are taking place later in the year.
