BodyPower Expo 2016

The BodyPower Expo 2016 will be taking place at the NEC, Birmingham, 13th-15th May 2016.

New Dermatology Book

Copies of the Color Atlas of Dermatology, Tannous are now available, including the e-book via E-Resources and the Dawson Books database.

New Image Resource

If you look at the E-Resources list, you'll see a new addition called ImageQuest. The site contains high quality images which you can use in your presentations without worrying about breaching copyright, as all of the pictures have been rights cleared for educational use. The site should be of interest to students on all courses. 

New Edition of Resistance Training Technique Book

Spa Opportunities

The new, 15th-28th April, digital issue of Spa Opportunities is now online. In addition to seeing the latest job vacancies, you can also read about current developments in the spa industry in this issue.

New Max Factor Book

If you are interested in the history of make-up or are looking for information for an assignment, we now have copies of Max Factor: the man who changed the faces of the world, Basten, in stock. Max Factor created make-up originally for silent films, then the talkies and colour motion pictures, and following this the general public were able to buy his innovative cosmetics, so the book is an interesting read. 

Health Club Management New Issue

The April 2016 digital issue of Health Club Management is now online. In this issue is the events calendar for the industry, 'Under the Influence', looking at social media, and 'Move with the Times', looking at the industry trends for 2016.

Good news for any students who would like to watch the DVDs at home. You can now borrow items from our DVD collection at both Summer Row Library and Richmond House Library for 7 days. Please note that you'll need to bring the DVDs you want to the library counter so that we can unlock the cases for you. When you return the DVD please take it to the Library counter and not the self-issue kiosk.

The Spring issue of Polished  is now online, This magazine covers nail industry news and included in this issue is nail art, season trends, and retailing in your salon.

We have just added a new book, Cosmeceuticals, Draelos, to the 866 and 870 MDRS.

Sconul Access

Many of our users have applied for Sconul Access cards, which allow students to make use of other University libraries around the UK - very useful if you're a long way from UCB during holidays or on placement! However, Sconul have now advised that us we can no longer issue cards to students who visit us in the Library. If you would like a Sconul Access card, you will need to apply online at: http://www.sconul.ac.uk/sconul-access​
